SMS Notifications
CathChat sends text messages for one purpose only: to deliver a one-time verification code when you sign in with your phone number. This page explains what those messages are, how you opt in, and how to stop them.
What messages we send
We send one-time account verification codes. When you sign in with your phone number, we text you a short numeric code that you enter in the app to confirm the number belongs to you.
We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising text messages, and we never sell or share your phone number for marketing purposes.
How you opt in
You provide your phone number yourself, in the app, on the phone sign-in screen. Before you submit it, the screen displays the consent language shown below. Entering your number and continuing is how you agree to receive the verification code. If you never enter a phone number, we never text you.

Message frequency, rates, and opting out
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Message frequency varies.
- Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
Because messages are sent only when you request a sign-in code, how often you receive one depends entirely on how often you sign in. Replying STOP stops all further messages from CathChat; you will then need to sign in another way, such as with your email address. Replying HELP returns contact information for support. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data charges apply to messages you send and receive.
Your privacy
Your phone number is used only for verification and account security. It is never displayed publicly, sold, or shared for marketing purposes. For full details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
